TurnUp
CIVIC TECH CHALLENGE

TurnUp Civic Tech is like a VC for ideas that will increase youth voter registration and turnout. It’s also a lab as we pioneer and rigorously test our ideas, too. The ideas, drive, and ability of young people need to be coupled with funding and a supportive community of mentors and peers for transformative technology to be created. These innovations can propel meaningful change at an unprecedented level. TurnUp Civic Tech is like our labs. We are here to make that happen.

Our Civic Innovation Fund financiers this cutting-edge program which seeks to identify, advance, and support novel projects in youth-led and/or youth-focused civic technology and media that have the potential to advance youth voter registration, turnout, activism, and engagement. With our vast network, growing investment power, and knowledge of the most pressing issues facing our democracy today, we are not just empowering and partnering with today's brightest minds to create lasting change for a better tomorrow - we're also putting our money where our mouths are and financing these initiatives as well.

OUR WORK INCLUDES

498,387 young people used a tool we supported that enables one to learn whether their friends voted in previous elections.

150,000 students registered to vote through a suite of giveaways that TurnUp ran and helped to fund.

62,305 young people used our tool to determine whether their vote would make a bigger difference in their home state, or the state where they attend college.

HAVE A GREAT IDEA?
WE WANT TO HELP!

Our $25,000 CIVIC INNOVATION CHALLENGE encourages students to share their ideas for a civic technology project or initiative to promote youth voter registration, turnout, or activism.

We offer non-dilutive funds for projects in any phase, whether they're still in ideation or already up and running.
