Our Initiatives

WHAT
ARE WE
UP TO

TurnUp organized the largest youth-led youth voter registration and turnout operations in the 2020 election, the 2022 midterms, the Georgia runoff elections, and the 2023 elections, based on publicly available data.

Since 2020, youth ages 18-29 have voted in record numbers and have been the deciding factor in elections.

Our approach is aimed at increasing democratic participation and investing in solution-driven innovations designed to increase youth registration, turn out young voters, and combat threats to our democracy from every angle. We provide the education, tools, and opportunities needed to create a civically competent and engaged electorate of young voters armed with the skills to strengthen our Democracy for generations to come.

Young people have shown us that with support from TurnUp's programs, they will show up in droves and be the energetic changemakers that our democracy needs.

PHYSICAL REGISTRATION & TURNOUT DRIVES

880,000+ young voters in swing states will turn 18 in 2024. We recruit, hire, and train students at 2,717 high schools and 296 community colleges to conduct physical registration drives and get their communities registered to vote!

RELATIONAL REGISTRATION & TURNOUT DRIVES

We hire young people at key high schools and community colleges and other unregistered young people to remind their friends to register to vote. We also employ low-propensity voters to remind their friends to vote.

DIGITAL CAMPAIGNS

It's overwhelmingly evident that to get young people civically engaged, we need to meet them where they are -- online.  By curating an online presence, especially on various social media platforms, organizations can help young people register to vote and vote.
