Youth Activism
REMOTE INTERNSHIP
TurnUp Activism is a progressive non-profit organization dedicated to making our nation more just, fair, and equitable for all by increasing youth activism and civic engagement to strengthen our democracy.
Interns work in remote teams of mission-driven young people from around the country to help amplify youth civic engagement and participate in activism on many progressive/ social justice issues including climate change, racial justice, reproductive rights, ending gun violence, and combating voter suppression.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The TurnUp Internship program is fully remote.
We accept rolling admission, meaning you can start at the beginning of any month and end at any time!
We accept high school, college, and graduate students who apply.
We understand our community lives busy lives, so we allow our interns to have flexible time commitment. We ask interns to work between 5-30 hours/week.
Internship hours can count towards community service OR school credit.
We encourage interns to meet with and engage with our network of expert speakers and leading figures from a variety of fields.
SKILLS INTERNS DEVELOP
Interns develop more effective communication skills, professional leadership skills, critical thinking and writing expertise, equal and balanced collaboration across teams, public oration, and grassroots organizing techniques.
ABOUT THE CURRICULUM
Interns will perform functions in grassroots teams, participate in local voter registration and turn out projects, write summaries and reflections to share across teams and departments, and conduct research into the history of activism, civics, and social justice issues.
